Council on Practices & Standards SPY Award

Membership

We encourage members of our Council on Practices and Standards to nominate peers for individual awards to recognize their exceptional work and service.

What Is the Council on Practices and Standards SPY Award

This Safety Professional of the Year (SPY) Award recognizes and pays tribute to an ASSP member's outstanding achievements in contributing to our practice specialties and common interest groups.

Honoree Benefits

The winner receives a commemorative award and registration for ASSP Annual Conference. The recipient may also be nominated for the Society’s annual ASSP Safety Professional of the Year Award the following year.

Nominee Requirements

Any practice specialty or common interest group member in good standing is eligible for this award — with the exception of current members of the council’s Awards and Honors Committee, including its chair. Nominees are evaluated based on:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise
  • Practice specialty, common interest group and ASSP activities
  • Professional contributions and accomplishments
  • Leadership and management
  • Endorsement from the leaders of the individual's member community

Submission Process

Deadline: March 15

Each practice specialty and common interest group is encouraged to nominate a single individual for the award each year. Nominations are submitted by March 15 each year using the online nomination form.
