Who We AreWho We Are

ASSP’s Environmental Practice Specialty member community focuses on issues like environmental management, water and air quality, solid and hazardous waste, emergency planning and response practices, chemicals safety and legislative and regulatory monitoring to help companies operate sustainability and act as good stewards of the environment.

What We Do

For ASSP members within the Environmental Practice Specialty, we provide the following:

  • Networking opportunities via social media groups, conference calls and in-person meetings like the annual Professional Development Conference so you can connect with top industry professionals
  • Professional development opportunities, including environmental- and occupational safety and health-focused education that you can immediately put into practice, mentor relationships that facilitate sharing knowledge and volunteer and leadership opportunities to build your resume
  • Environmental-focused content that you can also put into practice and share with employers and colleagues to further environmental-related initiatives
  • Give our members a voice in commenting on relevant OSHA and EPA legislation and in leading discussions on hot topics such as alternative energy and green practices in the workplace

Alternatively, consider running to be elected as assistant administrator, which leads to occupying the office of administrator after two years. As a volunteer leader, you can lend your time and expertise to our many initiatives, while developing transferable leadership and team-building skills.
