training_comm_mainWho We Are

ASSP’s Training and Communications Practice Specialty member community is the premier resource for occupational safety and health (OSH) trainers and communications practitioners seeking technical knowledge and expertise on instructional design, adult learning, e-learning, training diverse workforces and training and communications within the safety profession.

What We Do

For ASSP members within the Training and Communications Practice Specialty community, we provide the following:

  • Networking opportunities via social media groups, conference calls and in-person meetings like the annual Professional Development Conference so you can connect with top industry professionals

Practice Specialty Recognition

  • Professional development opportunities, including occupational safety and health-focused training and communications education that you can immediately put into practice, mentor relationships that facilitate sharing knowledge and volunteer and leadership opportunities to build your skills and enhance your resume
  • Safety-related, training- and communications-focused content and information that you can also immediately put into practice, share with employers and colleagues and use to create safe, productive work environments

Why It Matters

For workplace safety initiatives to be effective, they cannot simply live in the safety or risk management department. The entire organization, from the top down, must be invested. This requires you to deploy sound training and communications practices so employees at all levels can understand the initiatives, their potential impact and how they can be implemented. This makes it especially important for you to have access to a network of peers who can help guide your efforts and provide access to the latest technical content offering direction on the unique challenges you face.

How to Join
