Bart C. Dupre, CSP, graduated from first from Nicholls State University with an Associate Degree in Safety Technology and later completed a Bachelor of Science in Occupation Health & Safety from Columbia Southern University. Bart began his career in HSE in 2004 as a Safety coordinator for a service company in the oil and gas industry. Throughout his 17 years as a safety professional, he has been awarded BCSP’s certification Certified Safety Professional. He currently serves as the Corporate Safety Manager at T Baker Smith where he is charged with the oversight of HSE activities within the continental US and the GOM. Bart is the current ASSP Bayou Chapter President and has been for the past three years and serves as a committee chair for Region IV PDC.
Being then, an active student member of the American Society of Safety Professionals, brought my first position in safety. The society through the years has been a pillar in my personnel and professional development and I owe many folks throughout the society for achieving this success. After running through two cycles on the chapter executive board, attending several ASSP Leadership conferences, I would like to take my experiences and what’s been learned to assist the other Louisiana Chapters reach their goals. Every chapter brings its own persona, leadership qualities, and each chapter in the state brings it unique demographics across our great state. Strong leadership and goal oriented are key for our region to reach excellence for our members. It would be an honor to work with each chapter together and individually assisting them in reaching their chapter goals. In conclusion, I take the accountability and responsibility of representing the Louisiana Chapters at the regional and national levels with great respect and will dedicate my time & services to each chapter through 7/1/2022-6/30/2025.
