Members Receive 2019 Charles V. Culbertson Outstanding Volunteer Service Award

The Charles V. Culbertson Outstanding Volunteer Service Award recognizes ASSP board members, committee members or practice specialty officers who have provided outstanding volunteer service to the Society in the past year. Here are this year’s recipients:

SU_James Boretti

James Boretti, CSP, has volunteered with ASSP in various positions, most recently showing his passion and dedication as Region I vice president. He is a professional member of our Central Valley Chapter and serves on the Society’s Council on Region Affairs and Professional Conduct Committee. Boretti is president and CEO of Boretti Inc., a company that designs, develops and implements OSH, risk and safety management solutions.

SU_Pamela Hart

Pamela A. Hart, M.P.H., R.N., CSP, CMIOSH, COHN-S, is recognized for her effective leadership of the Board Leadership Development Task Force and her work with staff on the first Leadership Development Experience held last October. Hart is a professional member of our Northwest Chapter, a member of the Society’s Women in Safety Excellence Common Interest Group and serves as Director-At-Large on our Board of Directors. She is principal consultant for Hart Safety and Health Consulting, where she develops and implements comprehensive injury prevention, risk control and OSH programs.

SU_Richard Olawoyin

Richard Olawoyin, Ph.D., CSP, CEP, has devoted 2 years as coeditor of the ASSP publication, Safety Leadership & Professional Development. He is a professional member of our Greater Detroit Chapter, a member of the Society’s Blacks in Safety Excellence Common Interest Group, and a member of our Academics, Engineering and Environmental practice specialties. Olawoyin is associate professor in the Industrial and Systems Engineering program at Oakland University.

SU_Sharon Kemerer

Sharon Kemerer, COHN-S, is recognized for her leadership as chair of the ASSP Task Force for Total Worker Health. She is a professional member of our Greater Chicago Chapter, a member of the Society’s Women in Safety Excellence Common Interest Group, and a member of our International and Management practice specialties. She is principal consultant for the Kemerer Group.
