ASSP member Cory Worden, M.S., CSP, CSHM, CHSP, ARM, REM, CESCO, was honored with the 2018 Association of Occupational Health Professionals in Healthcare (AOHP) Executive Board Extraordinary Services Award. The AOHP board recognized Worden for his many and varied leadership roles and dedicated work with AOHP.
“AOHP is excited to recognize individuals and organizations that actively promote the advanced practice specialty of occupational health, as well as the health, safety, and well-being of healthcare workers," says AOHP Executive President Mary Bliss. "We are honored to present each of our winners with these awards, because healthy workers lead to healthy patients and a healthier community."
Worden has worked in the development, implementation and management of safety, health, environmental, emergency management and training programs for more than 15 years. He is a manager of system safety with the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System in Houston, TX. Worden holds an M.S. in Occupational Health and Safety and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in public safety. He is a professional member of ASSP’s Gulf Coast Chapter, and is a member of the Society’s Healthcare Practice Specialty, Gulf Coast Energy Corridor Section, and our Young Professionals Common Interest Group. He received ASSP’s Healthcare Practice Specialty Safety Professional of the Year Award in 2017.
