ASSP Members Receive Michigan Safety Conference’s 2020 Memorial Scholarship

ASSP members Ciara Bazinski, Nate Pfister, Sam Sarchet, Zane Swagart and Kasey Wesley have been selected to receive a 2020 Memorial Scholarship awarded by the Michigan Safety Conference, a volunteer organization dedicated to promoting the improvement of OSH practices in Michigan.

Selection criteria for this award included academic performance, recommendation letters, community service, demonstration of personal and professional ethics, post-graduation plans, and an essay response to an OSH workplace scenario. According to the organization, scholarship recipients often become leaders in safety and health, and give back to the profession by serving as volunteers for the conference.

Bazinski is a member of our Greater Detroit Chapter, as well as our Construction Practice Specialty and Emerging Professionals in OSH Common Interest Group.

Pfister is a student member of our Grand Valley State University Student Section, part of our West Michigan Chapter.

Sarchet is a member of our West Michigan Chapter, as well as our Management Practice Specialty and Emerging Professionals in OSH Common Interest Group.         

Swagart is a member of our West Michigan Chapter.

Wesley serves as president of our Grand Valley State University Student Section, part of our West Michigan Chapter, and is a member of our Environmental Practice Specialty and Women in Safety Excellence Common Interest Group.
