Platform Statement

Our society has always celebrated progression and ingenuity in the field of health and safety. It is the uniqueness of each region, chapter, and individual that supports our evolution as an industry and a professional society. With this understanding, our need to constantly develop and expand our membership becomes pertinent to our success.

As RVP of Region I, in support of society overall, I will challenge our chapter leadership to grow their membership, utilizing the untapped resources unique to our region. Within this goal, the emphasis will remain on a diverse and inclusive environment. Action must be taken to identify and encourage those individuals whose perspectives, ideas and leadership have been overlooked in the past, and are overdue for the progression and succession of our society.

I believe that we must create an environment of value in membership, in order to engage the next generation of members to our conferences, events, chapter meetings, and into leadership roles. That is why, if given the opportunity to serve as your Region I RVP, I will support our chapters in identifying new ways of connecting with our membership, giving access to the wealth of knowledge and resources that all members should feel privy to.

Region I has had some great direction over the past several years. Through the utilization of the framework already developed through that direction, and the expansion of efforts of past leadership, in addition to highlighting our region’s potential for membership growth, diversification, and value, I believe we can continue the journey to excellence in Region I.
