While many have expressed concern with what artificial intelligence (AI) would do to the world of safety and health, most have come to realize that it is truly an amazing advancement that needs our attention. It can be an effective copilot in our mission to prevent workplace injuries and save lives.

In this new time of uncertainty, we have the opportunity take a giant step forward by encouraging organizations to go beyond mere regulatory compliance.

While workers’ physical safety remains critical, understanding worker well-being in a holistic manner is emerging as a high priority for occupational environmental, health and safety professionals.

In our role as trusted advisors, we strive to help our members support their organizations’ efforts to keep workers safe at all times. This takes on greater urgency during times of change and uncertainty.

ASSP’s volunteers are central to our work. Because you willingly share your hard work, expertise and passion, our Society continues to thrive.

As safety professionals, we must constantly strive to ensure that incidents like the Triangle Shirtwaist fire and countless other tragedies are prevented rather than viewed as a risk of doing business.

When we elect our volunteer leaders, we are doing more than simply checking boxes on a ballot. We are helping to set the direction of our organization and influencing how it leads our profession.

Engaging in mentorship as a mentor, mentee, or both is one of the most powerful steps OSH professionals can take for professional and personal growth.
