American Society of Safety Professional's Board of Directors is responsible for the organization’s management and governance, and for planning and implementing strategies, programs and activities that advance the organization’s mission.

Board of Directors

  • Senior Vice president (1-year term 7/1/2023 to 6/30/2024 succeeds to President-elect, 1-year term 7/1/2024 to 6/30/2025 succeeds to President)
  • Vice President, Finance (3-year term 7/1/2023 to 6/30/2026)
  • Director-At-Large (3-year term 7/1/2023 to 6/30/2026)

Requirements & Qualifications

To be eligible, you must be a professional member in good standing with ASSP and cannot concurrently hold other elected Society offices. Each candidate should also possess several "overarching qualifications” — clearly defined in Society Operating Guidelines, section 6.8, Criteria for Candidates for American Society of Safety Professionals.

Board of Directors – Competency Requirements

ASSP seeks to develop a Board of Directors that has a strategic combination of demonstrated knowledge skills & abilities, personal attributes, knowledge/expertise and competencies that ensure that our Board, has a diversity of experiences, perspectives, information, connections, and skills to carry out the mission of the organization. Board of Directors Nomination Form

Along with your completed Nomination Form, you will be asked to submit the following:

  • Brief biography (limited to 250 words)
  • Platform statement addressing your vision for the position and the respective practice specialty (limited to 300 words)
  • Completed conflict of interest statement
  • Photo [hi-resolution, small (2 x 3, 300 dpi) or low-resolution, large (8 x 10, 72 dpi); JPG preferred
