Platform Statement

It has been a great privilege and an honor to be involved with the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) for more than twenty years and to serve on some of its greatest committees.  My many involvements with my local chapter and with society have given me insight into understanding the needs of most members from those studying to improve their level of knowledge with enhanced degrees and those studying to obtain certification, to first generation college graduates.  The years I have spent volunteering helped me to understand and anticipate the issues that need to be addressed according to ASSP strategic plan and Society’s mission.  Enthusiastically and with zest and excitement, I have helped advance society by serving on appointed roles such as a rules and safety committee judge for local science fairs, assisting as a greeter on the hospitality committee, and serving as a chair for the ASP/CSP Exam study group with my local chapter.  I have also served in elected positions as Area Director South Region III, chapter secretary, vice president, and president and serving as an administrator for BISE common interest group.

It can be said that the strength of an organization, such as ASSP; comes from the commitment, accountability, and dedication of its leaders.  This commitment in promoting and advancing safety across generations within chapters and regions is one that I strongly feel is needed.  With your vote, I aim to continue to support ASSP developed initiatives and to help the society grow professionally.

I am committed to help provide the highest level of support upward to the Regional Vice President (RVP), Assistant/Deputy (ARVP), and outward to all chapters in a safe, efficient, and effective manner.  I am also committed to advocating for the advancement and future of the profession.
