Platform Statement

My first year as Chapter President, I was presented with a vast number of responsibilities, expectations, and tasks.  Initially I felt overwhelmed, but working with experienced chapter members and in particular society, i.e. the Area Director, I started to get my bearings as to how my role as President benefits my chapter.  Collaboration is a very valuable asset that our chapter and as I learned, society has that brings value to our safety professionals and the people we try to keep safe.

If elected, Area Director, I would:

  • Continue the effort of our past Area Director by providing support, mentorship, and knowledgethat I have regarding Chapter operations andleadership
  • Promote initiatives and activities that will engage and deliver value to members of chapters, areas, and regions.
  • Identify opportunities for our area leadership to work together to consistently and effectively contribute to the safety profession in the communities that we live

ASSP has given me the opportunity to actively participate and promote the safety profession. I feel that there is opportunity to grow the profession by encouraging and mentoring future safety professionals. In particular, the time is great to cultivate future safety professionals from the diverse people that make up the area, regions, and communities that we serve.  I would be honored to serve as your Area Director of Region 1, Area 2.
