Gbolahan Kamil Abiodun BSc., MSc.; GradIOSH, CSP is a leading HSE professional with seventeen years of experience. His career interests span Health, Safety Environmental (HSE) in the Oil & Gas downstream and infrastructure Industries project safety management with remarkable HSE performance achievement. Kamil’s achievement over the years leveraged on power of interpersonal relationship, teamwork and engagement with an understanding of people cultural difference towards a common goal.
Held a BSc. in Chemical Sciences and Masters’ degree in Environmental Health and Safety management, University of Sunderland, United Kingdom. Kamil attended several professional development workshops and conferences as delegate or speaker with, ILO World safety Congress, IOSH and ASSP. He served has ASSP president in 2014-2015, received several recognitions on the leadership roles played with the chapter and region over years. Gbolahan Kamil Abiodun is a Supervising Health Safety and Environmental Engineer with DeltaAfrik Engineering Ltd (a Worley group) based in Lagos Nigeria since 2009, where he’s been able to achieve great success with zero lost time Injuries and no regulatory violation record. In Kamil’s personal life, he is married with 4 children. Kamil affection for networking, traveling, mentoring and reading leadership, professional books and journals. He a professional member of ASSP since 2008.
Platform Statement
I intend to engage more with members across the area sharing the values on networking and engagement with regulators within their locations HSE technical information that will increase their chances of better cooperation and improve the ASSP Advocacy. This shall be achieved through effective communication.
I recognize the chapter leadership effort as vital in driving the engagement and I plan to maintain closer communication to understanding the local cultural values towards achieving vision of the society. Additionally, as the Area Director Region IX, I will continue to drive professional development for our member and their professional peers in the loyalty for improved HSE advocacy towards an effective incident prevention with their location and the region. The need to maintain engagement is key for the region to drive membership and meet the aspiration of safety professionals with the area and the region at large. I shall remain visible and realistic, again it shall be appreciated if given the opportunity to severe you all.
