Biography

Muhammad Alamgir, CSP, CRSP, CFIOSH currently works as Lead HSE Engineer with a multinational firm (PMC) at Kuwait Oil Company. Besides his background in Chemical Engineering and intensive safety career over 17 years in the Oil and Gas, Construction, Petrochemical, and Chemical sectors, he is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) and Chartered Fellow of IOSH (CFIOSH). Muhammad has also acquired many International certificates by Nebosh, ISO, IOSH, and technical HSE studies from different global institutes.

Muhammad became a member of Kuwait Chapter in 2008 and served the chapter in different positions such as Committee Head, Vice President (2016-17) and President (2017-18). For the past 3 years, he served the Chapter as an Advisory Committee member. He also served Global Region IX as a Regional Best Practice Chair 2018-19 and a member of ASSP IH Practice Specialty. During his tenure as Chapter President and Vice President the Kuwait Chapter achieved Platinum Recognition.  He has also been recognized as “Safety Professional of the Year – 2019 by the Kuwait Chapter for his longstanding and extraordinary contributions for the Chapter and ASSP.

Muhammad has taken various important steps to advance the safety and health profession, development of society members, spreading OHS awareness to different communities and enhancing the membership in the region, organized professional development conference, technical seminars, training programs, HSE excellence award programs and many more. During his tenure as Chapter President, they won ASSP Global membership challenge and certified members to enhance their technical aspects of professionalism.

I love serving voluntarily because this role gives me everlasting satisfaction and happiness. My goal is to ensure that chapters within Area-1 are fully supported by ASSP, comply with ASSP requirements, enhance the professionalism of members, create more opportunities and leadership, demonstrate consistent and constructive contribution for the development of society and communities, join legal forums to improve legislations, spread awareness and save more lives under the umbrella of voluntarily network of ASSP.
