Advancing Construction Safety: ASSP Participates in the OSHA Alliance Roundtable

Apr 24, 2025

On April 10, ASSP participated in the OSHA Alliance Program’s 2025 Annual Construction Roundtable, an event that brought together government, labor and industry stakeholders to collaborate on improving safety across the construction industry. ASSP’s participation reflects its ongoing commitment to shaping national safety conversations and contributing to efforts that benefit workers across the construction industry.

The OSHA Alliance Program provides a valuable platform for building partnerships and fostering cross-sector collaboration on education, training, outreach and communication initiatives that support shared safety goals. ASSP’s engagement in the Alliance demonstrates its dedication to contributing expertise and advancing initiatives that drive meaningful progress in occupational environmental, safety and health (EHS).

A key theme at the roundtable was OSHA’s increasing emphasis on psychological safety and mental health in the construction industry. The agency indicated this marks the beginning of a larger public effort, with a current focus on awareness-building. This aligns with ASSP’s commitment to holistic worker well-being and offers promising opportunities for future collaboration.

During the event, ASSP shared updates on the A10 Construction and Demolition Operations Standards and highlighted recent work from the Intersociety Forum (ISF). This included the ISF’s recent report, Driving Business Growth and Profitability Through Modern Occupational Environmental, Health and Safety Practices, reinforcing the value of continued collaboration among safety-focused organizations.

One important aspect of ASSP’s participation in the OSHA Alliance Program is the two-way communication it enables. It allows ASSP to bring member perspectives into federal-level conversations while also learning directly from OSHA’s evolving priorities. This dialogue strengthens the impact of both parties and encourages alignment around actionable safety solutions.

Looking ahead, ASSP will continue to actively engage in the OSHA Alliance Program and upcoming roundtables and forums. These opportunities not only increase the Society’s visibility but also ensure that members’ voices are represented in shaping national safety priorities and outcomes that strengthen workplace safety and empower professionals across the industry.
