Platform Statement

I think of one word when I look at the ASSP as a whole, regionally, within each area, and even within a single chapter.  That word is DIVERSITY.  Not diversity as many people think when they first hear the word, but the diversity of the safety profession and the diversity of what ASSP provides to the membership.  The ASSP is not a construction safety group, or a manufacturing group, or an insurance group.  The membership represents almost every type of industry, service provider, size and type of operation.  The association provides members, resources for learning, opportunities for networking, career development, technology, etc.

My goal is to be a conduit between chapters to supplement their current efforts and programs to reach additional members in areas of the profession not already represented in their chapter.  I hope to help chapters diversify their presentations and offerings to their members that promote communication between members of varied industries, specialties, skill sets, etc.

I will promote the diverse offerings from the association to ensure each chapter is maximizing their efforts to get the resources to their members.  I will engage the Chapters in the Regions efforts to provide diverse offerings to ensure all chapters see the benefit of the regional programs.  I will represent ASSP in a manner that reflects the great profession and people that make up the association to anyone and everyone I come in contact with.
