Biography

I bring over 10 years of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) experience, including 6 years dedicated to healthcare safety. As an EHS program manager at Kaiser Permanente, I oversee biosafety, hazardous waste management, emergency management, and facility safety within a large healthcare system. My work blends compliance, innovation, and culture by designing programs that strengthen psychological safety, reduce risk, and improve operational resilience. I am a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) and have a Master of Science in Occupational and Environmental Health from Purdue University and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Management from Arizona State University. I am passionate about advancing the safety profession through mentorship, system-based problem solving, and volunteer leadership. My goal is to continue promoting collaboration and innovation within the Healthcare Practice Specialty by helping our community share strategies, elevate best practices, and drive meaningful improvements in worker safety and health.

Platform Statement

Healthcare safety is complex. Patients, staff, and visitors depend on us to keep environments safe, compliant, and resilient. In my 12 years in EHS, including 6 in healthcare, I've seen the challenges we face: limited resources, growing demands, and the ongoing need to make the case for safety. I've also seen the power of collaboration when professionals share ideas and support one another. If elected, I will focus on three priorities: 1) Practical resources. Members need tools they can use right away. I'll help expand our library of checklists, templates, and case studies so no one has to start from scratch. 2) Data that tells our story. Safety saves lives and money. I'll highlight metrics and success stories that show the real impact of EHS in healthcare and help us earn stronger leadership support. 3) A stronger community. We're at our best when we connect. I'll promote mentoring, recognize member achievements, and create more opportunities across roles and settings. At Kaiser Permanente, I've led workplace safety, biosafety, and emergency management programs. My proudest work has been helping build cultures where people feel safe to speak up. That's the same spirit I want to bring to our Healthcare Practice Specialty.
