I am honored to be considered for the role of Assistant Administrator for the Emerging Safety Professionals Common Interest Group. With over 20 years of experience in occupational safety and health, I’ve had the privilege of working across diverse industries including steel manufacturing, transportation, construction, and emergency services. These experiences have shaped my understanding of the challenges and opportunities safety professionals face at every stage of their careers. One of my most impactful contributions has been leading a peer-driven hazard recognition program that encouraged employees to look out for one another. This initiative not only reduced incidents but also strengthened team engagement and accountability—values I believe are essential to the growth of our profession. As a holder of the Construction Safety and Health Technician (CHST) certification and a candidate for the Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation, I am committed to lifelong learning and professional development. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health from Columbia Southern University, where I built a strong foundation in safety leadership and regulatory compliance. I have a long list of accomplishments, however if elected, I will do my best to make sure that each person in this group is cared for and to keep us on a path to make us 1 percent better each day. If elected, I will focus on supporting emerging professionals by fostering mentorship, promoting engagement within our community, and helping members access the tools and connections they need to succeed. I believe in leading with integrity, collaboration, and respect—and I’m excited to contribute to the continued success of ASSP and the safety profession. Thank you for your consideration and for the opportunity to serve.
