Platform Statement

One goal of an Area Director is supporting the Regional Vice-President to further the agenda for Region III. One strength would be ideas that I have gained while being in multiple Regions of ASSP. Being a Chapter President during COVID taught me a lot about thinking outside the box to come up with ideas to support the local chapter. We have a common problem in Region III regarding officer succession and keeping members of the Executive Committee. I want to work with the most successful chapters at succession planning to see how we can help the smaller chapters achieve this goal. We also need to develop more ideas for raising money for the Chapters and getting more people to return to the in-person meetings. I want to foster better communication and collaboration with all the chapters in Region III to gain the advantages that come from working with each other to learn from each other. We have achieved something special in Region III in the last three years, all Chapters being Platinum. I want to see us continue attainment of Platinum for the Region. One personal goal is to see the El Paso ASSP group become a Section and then return to being a Chapter. Permian Basin Chapter has been working to help them achieve chapter status once again and want to see this happen. As an ARVP for the past three plus years, I have attended ROC meetings and been part of the Region III PDC planning committee. I will work with the chapter officers to help them with assisting the chairperson with planning the PDC and encourage participation of their members as both attendees and speakers. We have a lot of knowledge in Region III and need to tap that talent for our Chapter, Region, and Society PDCs.
