Nathan Berry, CHST

Biography

Nathan Berry is a dedicated safety professional with over 20 years of experience in occupational safety and health. Passionate about fostering a culture of safety, he has actively contributed to the ASSP through various initiatives focused on professional development, advocacy, and community engagement. Nathan has a strong background in General Industry, construction, and insurance risk management, enabling him to provide valuable insights and resources to fellow members. In addition to serving as a mentor to emerging safety leaders, h has organized training programs and networking events that promote knowledge sharing and collaboration among professionals. Nathan's commitment to diversity and inclusion has further enhanced the ASSP community, ensuring that all voices are represented in safety discussions. He holds Construction Health Safety Technician (CHST), OSHA 500 & 501, and is an active participant in industry research, contributing to the advancement of safety practices.  Nathan believes in the power of teamwork and open communication to drive positive change and enhance safety outcomes. He is excited about the opportunity to serve as Area Director, bringing a vision of collaboration and empowerment to further strengthen the ASSP and its members.

Platform Statement

As a candidate for Area Director, my platform is centered on enhancing member engagement, promoting professional development, and advocating for a culture of safety within our communities. Member Engagement: I believe that our strength lies in our collective expertise and experiences. I will prioritize open communication and feedback channels to ensure all members feel valued and heard. By creating opportunities for collaboration, we can share best practices and support one another in our professional journeys. Professional Development: I am committed to providing tailored training and resources that meet the evolving needs of our members. I will work to expand access to workshops, webinars, and mentorship programs that empower safety professionals at all stages of their careers. Together, we can elevate our skills and knowledge, driving excellence in the OSH field. Advocacy for Safety: I will advocate for initiatives that promote a proactive safety culture within organizations. By collaborating with industry leaders and local businesses, we can create awareness of the importance of safety and ensure that it remains a priority in all workplaces. Diversity and Inclusion: I am dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment within ASSP. I will support initiatives that amplify underrepresented voices and create a community where everyone feels empowered to contribute. By focusing on these key areas, I aim to strengthen our chapter and enhance the value we provide to all members. Together, we can build a safer future and advance the profession of safety.
