Shaundree Davis, CIH, CSP, REHS, is currently the Associate Director for Environmental Health within the Office of Environmental Health and Safety at Princeton University. She has been practicing in the occupational health and safety field for over 25 years and the majority of it has been spent leading the industrial hygiene and environmental health programs at Princeton. Shaundree received a Bachelor of Science degree from Rutgers, the State University of NJ, where she majored in public health and minored in biology. She also holds a Master of Public Health degree from the Rutgers University, School of Public Health, where she majored in environmental and occupational health. In addition, she is a Board-Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and Industrial Hygienist (CIH), and also holds the NJ Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) state licensure. Shaundree has been a member of the American Society of Safety Professionals since 1999 and has held a variety of volunteer leadership roles at the chapter, region and Society levels. This has included serving two terms as the Region VIII Metropolitan Area Director, as well as chairing the Society’s Chapter Operations Committee (COC) for two terms. While serving as COC chair, one of her proudest accomplishments was to lead the effort to update the Chapter Operations Management Tool (COMT) to the more streamlined version that is currently in use. She also worked with the COC to create a mentorship toolkit that is still available to help chapter leaders develop and maintain these programs
As a firm believer in the motto "sharing is caring," I see the person in this role playing an essential part in leading the effort to create opportunities for chapter leaders to learn and benefit from one another. If chosen, this will be the principle that guides every activity and initiative that I undertake. I also believe that leading in this way will create a safe space for chapter leaders to feel comfortable sharing everything, not just their successes, so that we can all learn from each other. My hope is that this will result in all of us retaining and growing our membership through providing them with the best service possible.
