Four members of ASSP’s Slippery Rock University Student Section attended Safety 2021, Sept. 13-15, in Austin, TX. The section was named ASSP's Outstanding Student Section earlier this year. 

“The conference went above and beyond my expectations,” says Section Treasurer Leah Bracken, who will graduate in May 2022. “I made so many connections and met so many hard-working and dedicated safety professionals.”  

Section President Alina Schlichtkrull came away with lots of ideas on potential speakers for the group's technical meetings. Madison Titus, WISE Common Interest Group Liaison, says the experience made her "incredibly eager to start my career in safety. Seeing the safety community all together really puts our profession into perspective of the impact we can have." Brad Kane enjoyed being able to attend the conference and network with some amazing professionals he met during his internship.

All who attended were grateful for the opportunity and agree it's an experience they will never forget.
