I am a laborer turned safety manager hailing from Virginia. My life has always been one of attempting to advocate for people who cannot do it for themselves. Whether it is workers in the industry, elderly at the nursing home, children in Sunday school, or the homeless, I have a heart for people who need help. My belief is that in an industry such as construction, it is incumbent for good men to stand on principle even when the companies priority is profit. While most in our field are paid to produce, we are paid to care regardless of what a human being does for the bottom line. To us, the human being is the bottom line. Health and safety for fathers, mothers, daughters and sons is the bottoms line. And it is not a line I will ever stop advocating for.
My hope is to continuously advocate for our organization’s thriving, education, improvement and networking with our fellow professionals to increase the influence of safety one program one relationship at a time. I believe that in assisting our administrator, I will be able to better improve our system’s relevance in the safety field through an hands-on people first approach to policy, education, training and administration.
