He has represented the insurance industry as a member of the Steel Erection Negotiated Rulemaking Advisory Committee and was vice-chair of the ANSI/ASSP A10 Construction and Demolition Operations Committee. During his career, Rank has been director, Safety Institute, California Ironworkers Employers Council; executive director, safety and health, National Erectors Association; and vice president, national safety coordinator, Ironworking Contractors Insurance Program.
