Common Interest Group Recognition

Why It Matters
The OSH industry and its leaders should be as diverse as all the different businesses and employees it serves. Workers are more likely to respond to safety initiatives that are spurred by people to whom they can relate and trust. Having a diverse group of safety professionals helps ensure this. Furthermore, many women have made great contributions to the safety profession, and we want to ensure that there is a place for more female-led initiatives in the future.
WISE Mentor Program
We connect experienced and rising OSH professionals from within the WISE community to invest in the future of women in the safety profession; create lifelong relationships; and enhance mentees’ business acumen and develop their leadership skills. Mentor and mentee applicants must be members of ASSP and WISE.

ChapterWISE
We created ChapterWISE to help coordinate WISE events such as networking, technical talks, and community and student outreach at the local chapter level.
Currently, our ChapterWISE team has 126 WISE members who represent 93 U.S. chapters and 12 countries. The team meets regularly to share ideas, exchange information and discuss upcoming events. We also present the ChapterWISE Distinction Award to recognize local chapters and their leaders for their WISE-related activities throughout the year.
