Shawn D. Rice, CSP, STSC, CIT, is the Director of Safety for the Cyber Center of Excellence, Fort Gordon, Georgia. A major aspect of the CCoE's mission is the training, education, and development of world-class, highly skilled Signal, Cyber, and Electronic Warfare professionals supporting operations at the strategic, operational, and tactical level. Mr. Rice directs a diverse staff of professionals to support joint military operations and leadership at all levels across a large military complex. He plans and provides guidance on technical safety concerns as Fort Gordon transforms into a world-class, state of the art, high-tech Cyberspace/Signal campus while continuing to operate and train throughout the Army’s estimated $907M, build. Mr. Rice was born in Southbridge, MA and enlisted in the US Air Force in 1993. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 2014 after twenty-one years of service.
I am Shawn Rice, a highly skilled and driven safety leader, and a candidate for the Military-Practice Specialty Assistant Administrator position. My experience and desire to build upon my multi-skilled leadership competencies align well with the expectations needed to fulfil the qualifications needed for this role.
With more than 18 years’ experience as a safety manager/director I am adept at planning, forecasting, and team building. Moreover, my on-the-job experience through multiple trades and military agencies within the Department of Defense has afforded me a unique, well-rounded skill set including critical and analytical thinking abilities. I excel at:

- Change management
- Advanced user of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint
In addition, I have a strong commitment and desire to develop first class teams through continuous mentorship, motivation, feedback, and training opportunities. Should I be elected to this position I will continue to advocate for our profession.
