Platform Statement

I’ve been a member of the ASSP for decades. However, it is only in the last few years that I’ve been able to participate more significantly. I am now willing/able to step up to the Assistant Administrator role.

I’ve been active with the CPS for a few years now. When I started consulting in 2015, I had never previously consulted and had a lot to learn. I joined the CPS and became active. Over time I learned many things about OSH related consulting via CPS activities. This included attendance or leading webinars, participation in CPS sponsored round table events, reading the CPS-developed book about safety consulting, networking, participation in the mentoring program as a mentee, and simply asking questions of other members.

I have assisted CPS in the past by helping with Membership, and more recently with Professional Development. This has helped me to better understand the CPS and more broadly, ASSP.

I believe that CPS is a valuable group and that being a member is a worthwhile activity. At an organizational level, it is one of the offerings of the ASSP that is a draw to the ASSP. From a direct member-value standpoint, it provides value in terms of learning and networking opportunities, as well as through what can be gained through serving in one of the volunteer roles that are available.

I’ve also participated in other volunteer activities to include being a member of the committee for ANSI/ASSP Z10, the US TAG to ANSI for TC 283, and as a canvas member for the committee on ANSI/ASSP Z590.3, Prevention through Design. I also serve as a Delegate for the Greater Detroit Chapter (advisory group).

I have a background and perspective that could help CPS; I’d like to step up to a higher level of participation and leadership.
