Thom Kramer, P.E., CSP

Thom Kramer is a safety consultant and structural engineer with 24 years of experience. Kramer specializes in assessing and designing fall protection systems and developing fall protection programs. Kramer is chair of the ANSI/ASSP Z359 Committee and chairs two subcommittees (Z359.1 and Z359.17). He is also president of the International Society for Fall Protection. As a leading expert in the fall protection industry, he has presented more than 200 technical sessions and workshops. Kramer was named ASSP’s Safety Professional of the Year in 2016. He holds bachelors and master's degrees in civil engineering, as well as an M.B.A.
Sanji Kanth, P.E.

Sanji Kanth as worked in the federal government for 35 years. He currently serves in the Office of General Industry Enforcement under OSHA’s Directorate of Enforcement Programs. He provides technical advice on OSHA requirements to employers, employees and OSHA regional and area offices. Before joining OSHA, Kanth served for 12 years with the Department of Energy, where he was responsible for developing and implementing the agency’s Voluntary Protection Program. Kanth has an M.S. in Chemical Engineering from Ohio State University.

Andrew Reed works in the Office of General Industry and Agricultural Enforcement under OSHA’s Directorate of Enforcement Programs. His responsibilities include responding to formal requests for letters of interpretation and providing technical consultation to employers, employees and OSHA regional and area offices. Prior to working for OSHA, Reed was a jurisdictional safety specialist for the Architect of the Capitol. He has also worked for several private manufacturers and contractors in occupational safety and health. Reed holds an M.S. in Safety Sciences from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. from Marshall University.
Thomas Shanahan, M.B.A., CAE

Tom Shanahan joined National Roofing Contractors Association staff in 1989. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Creighton University and an M.B.A. from Northwestern University and a graduate certificate in leadership coaching from Georgetown University. Shanahan is a speaker, instructor and facilitator at roofing and construction industry educational and governmental events. He is known for developing and delivering educational programs and expertise in roofing safety and health. He is a management representative on OSHA’s Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health and serves on the NIOSH’s National Occupational Research Agenda Construction Sector Council and is chair of its falls work group.
