Thomas E. Kramer, P.E., CSP, has served as a director-at-large on the ASSP Board of Directors since 2019. He is managing principal for LJB Inc. and has been an ASSP member since 2000.
Kramer was named ASSP’s Safety Professional of the Year in 2016 and is a two-time recipient of the Charles V. Culbertson Outstanding Volunteer Service Award. He also earned an ASSP President’s Award, chaired the Society’s Professional Development Conference Planning Committee for three years and served as vice president for the Council on Professional Development.
As a dually registered professional engineer and certified safety professional, Kramer works to improve safety and reduce risks for workers at height. He has more than 25 years of experience in design and consulting and specializes in fall protection programs and systems. He is the chair of the ANSI/ASSP Z359 Fall Protection Committee and also chairs the subcommittees that develop the overall fall protection code (Z359.1) and the standard for horizontal lifelines (Z359.17).
Outside of ASSP, Kramer is president of the International Society for Fall Protection and has planned symposiums on three continents in the past decade. He earned an MBA from Miami University in Ohio and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and master’s degree in structural engineering from the University of Cincinnati. He resides in Springboro, Ohio.
