Why We Conduct Original Research

New technologies, a changing workforce and emerging risks are reshaping the EHS profession. These shifts raise questions that existing data can't always answer. Safety professionals need reliable benchmarks to plan ahead, make the case for investment and guide their organizations through change.

Since 1911, ASSP has helped safety professionals protect people, property and the environment. That history and our global community of more than 35,000 professionals put us in a unique position to fill the gap. We go directly to the people doing the work to understand where the profession stands today and where it's headed.

Each year, we publish a focused set of original research reports on the issues that matter most to the profession. Every report gives you an objective, evidence-based view so you can make informed decisions with confidence.

  2. Working with research experts. We partner with experienced research firms to design surveys, collect data and analyze results.
  3. Sharing our methods. Each report includes when and how the data was collected, the sample size and the topics covered.
