Scott DeBow

Scott Debos

Director-at-Large Scott DeBow, CSP, ARM, serves as the director of HSE for Avetta. He joined the ASSP Board of Directors on July 1, 2024, serving a three-year term. He also is a trustee of the ASSP Foundation – the Society's charitable arm – in his dual leadership role.

DeBow is a collaborative and strategic practitioner with more than 20 years of progressive leadership experience, including service in the U.S. Navy that became the conduit for his career in environmental health and safety.

DeBow has served as vice president of ASSP’s Georgia Chapter and is a contributing member to several safety areas. His involvement includes the Society’s Risk Management Practice Specialty; ANSI/ASSP Z10 and ISO 45001 standards committees for occupational safety and health management; American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standards development; alternative safety metrics and serious injuries and fatalities (SIF) prevention; and mentorship within ASSP’s Emerging Professionals in OSH Common Interest Group.

DeBow wrote the book “Safety Management Systems in a Joint-Employer Environment” that the Society published in 2023, highlighting a systems approach to the unique risks within a joint-employer environment.

An ASSP member since 2012, DeBow resides in Atlanta, GA.
