Daniel J. Snyder

Dan Snyder

Daniel J. Snyder, Ed.D., CSP, CHST, OHST, CIT, is owner and founder of research-based consultancy Safety Mentor. He joined the ASSP Board of Directors on July 1, 2021, serving a three-year term. He also serves as a trustee of the ASSP Foundation, the Society's charitable arm, in his dual leadership role.

Snyder’s safety career includes more than 30 years of consulting, training, research, mentoring and creating sustainable solutions. He holds a master’s degree in human resource development and a doctorate degree in adult and lifelong learning from the University of Arkansas. He has been an ASSP member since 2005.

Snyder is also a professional speaker and published author. His works include the SPAN exam study workbooks, the ethics chapter in ASSP’s “Consultants Business Development Guide” published in 2015, and the National Safety Council’s “Pocket Guide to Safety Essentials, Second Edition” published in 2014.

Snyder is committee chair for the ANSI/ASSP Z490.1 standard on EHS training. He also is a member of the U.S. Technical Advisory Group to ISO Technical Committee 283 for the ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems standard. He resides in the Ozarks of Missouri.
