Platform Statement

I am asking for your support in running for Region II Area A Director. I believe in leading by example, with fairness, consistency, and integrity guiding every commitment I make. My leadership philosophy is rooted in listening attentively, empowering others, and ensuring that individuals and teams have the resources and support to succeed. Through my volunteer service with the Southern Nevada Chapter — as Vice President, President, Past President, and as an active committee member — I have gained a deep understanding of how to strengthen chapters and advance ASSP’s mission. I bring three unique perspectives that will allow me to serve effectively as Region II Area A Director: Scientific & Logical Perspective: As a microbiologist, Certified Industrial Hygienist, and Certified Safety Professional, I bring a data-driven mindset that complements my people-centered “Safety Differently” approach. Small Business Perspective: As a business owner, I know how to assess strengths, delegate effectively, and implement practical strategies that help teams succeed. I will use this to support Chapter Presidents and Boards with real-world examples to complement Society’s resources. Nonprofit Leadership Perspective: As Board President of New Vista, a nonprofit serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, I have led strategic initiatives, executive collaboration, and large-scale projects that improved efficiency, culture, and accountability. My leadership is about action and results. When the Fall 2023 ROC was in jeopardy, I organized and hosted it in Las Vegas with less than four weeks’ notice, creating a memorable event that came in under budget and generated sponsorship support. I also launched “Project Platinum,” giving chapters proven resources and tools to reach Platinum status and maximize their member benefits. As Region II Area A Director, I will bring vision, creativity, and commitment to helping every chapter and every member thrive.
