Our Central Indiana Chapter recently donated $500 to local community outreach organizations to help the people of Indianapolis and provide resources for those in need in the community. Chapter President Jeff Fox presented the John Boner Neighborhood Centers with a $500 donation to the organization, which helps to maintain safe households for low-income families in the Indianapolis area. According to Fox, the money will provide families with first-aid kits and a safety workshop.
Fox also presented Volunteers of America with a $500 donation to provide evacuation kits for women and children living in the organization’s Fresh Start Recovery Program, a family-focused residential addictions treatment program that provides treatment options for pregnant women and mothers with children.
“Our chapter strives to give back to the community each year,” says Fox. “We work with the United Way to find organizations in the area that are in need of safety related items, donations or volunteers. It’s rewarding to speak with these organizations to understand the impact they are making in the community. We are glad to help.”
