ASSP Member’s Community Outreach Helps COVID-19 Efforts

May 01, 2020

As COVID-19 continues to affect our communities, ASSP members are pulling together to help those in need.

Chris Laszcz-Davis, M.S., CIH, COH, FAIHA, AIC Fellow, is working to connect volunteers with the Rotary International and Yale School of Public Health’s Volunteer Surge initiative, which reduces the burden on doctors and nurses by delegating tasks to trained volunteers. Volunteers can train to provide telehealth support or work on the front lines at testing sites.

Laszcz-Davis has been spreading the word about this volunteer opportunity by contacting more than 15 professional organizations such as local chambers of commerce. She encourages people to get involved, both by volunteering and telling others.

“If we are going to manage COVID-19, we need the collaboration of nonprofits, businesses and governmental organizations,” she says.

Laszcz-Davis is a professional member of our San Francisco Chapter and a member of several practice specialties, including ConstructionConsultantsEnvironmentalIndustrial Hygiene, ManagementManufacturingRisk Management/Insurance, and Training and Communications, as well as our Women in Safety Excellence Common Interest Group. She also serves on our Council on Professional Affairs as well as our Total Worker Health Task Force.
