ETS Ruling – What’s Next?

The Supreme Court’s recent ruling on OSHA’s Emergency Temporary Standard (ETS) will have a major impact on the safety profession. ASSP has assembled three experts to answer your questions about this ruling and how it impacts you as a safety professional. Courtney Malveaux
Courtney MalveauxCourtney Malveaux, attorney at law with Jackson Lewis P.C. is a Principal in the Richmond, Virginia office of Jackson Lewis P.C. and Co-Leader of the firm’s Workplace Safety and Health Practice Group, as well as Leader of a Manufacturing Industry subgroup. Before joining Jackson Lewis, Mr. Malveaux enforced occupational safety and health laws and other state and federal labor laws as Virginia’s Labor Commissioner and he served as President of the National Association of Government Labor Officials.

She recently retired as Corporate Director of Health, Safety and Wellness at L.L.Bean. Deborah was President of ASSP 2020-2021 and presented COVID-19 safety virtually to OSH professionals around the globe.

Julian Mercer
Julian MercerJulian Mercer, is Director, Global Environmental, Health & Safety at Hexagon Composites. Hexagon delivers safe and innovative solutions for a cleaner energy future. Hexagon’s solutions enable storage, transport, and conversion to clean energy in a wide range of mobility, industrial and consumer applications. As a member of the executive supportive team, he is the functional expert to Executive Vice President of Operations and CEO. Serving as a strategic partner to C-Suite & tactical partner to facility operations. Julian started as an ASSP student member serving as Vice President and President of the student chapter at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. Most recently (2021) supported ASSP as volunteer leader in his former role of Regional Vice President of region VI – serving over 3500 members. Region VI covers 5 states (DE, MD, VA, NC, & SC) and the District of Columbia. Julian supports diversity and inclusion through involvement in ASSP’s Management Practice Specialty and Common Interest Groups - BISE, WISE, HSP and Emerging Professionals.
