On Demand: Enhancing Work Zone Safety Using ANSI/ASSP A10.47

Work zones can expose workers to many hazards. Our speaker Travis Parsons, chair of the ANSI/ASSP A10.47 Subgroup, will discuss work zone safety issues and explain how OSH professionals can use the ANSI/ASSP A10.47 standard to identify, assess and reduce the hazards and exposures found in these unique work environments.

The A10.47 standard covers employees engaged in construction, utility work, and maintenance or repair activities on any area of a highway. It also establishes minimum requirements for the construction and maintenance of public and private highways and roads.

Speaker

Travis Parsons
t-parsonsTravis Parsons is Associate Director of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) for the Laborers’ Health & Safety Fund of North America in Washington, DC, and he is chair of the ANSI/ASSP A10.47 Subgroup Chair. He has worked for over 25 years in safety, the last 19 in the OSH field. In his current role, Parsons provides an array of safety and health services to affiliates of the Laborers’ International Union of North America. He is a recognized OSHA Master Instructor for the construction industry. Parsons has a B.S in Physiology and a M.S. in Occupational Safety and Health/Industrial Hygiene, both from West Virginia University.
