Chris Trahan Cain

Chris Trahan Cain is executive director of CPWR–The Center for Construction Research and Training, the country’s leading nonprofit dedicated to reducing construction worker injuries, illnesses, and fatalities. Her work has included improving worker protection from hazards such as falls, heat, and chemical exposures, as well as reducing deaths from opioids and suicide. 

A Certified Industrial Hygienist, she was previously CPWR’s director of OSHA and disaster response training and then its deputy director before being selected for her current position in 2017. She is also health director for North America's Building Trades Unions, including leading its Safety and Health Committee and its Opioids Task Force.
