ASSP Member Elected to AIHA Board of Directors

John Mulhausen, Ph.D., CSP, CIH, was recently elected vice president of American Industrial Hygiene Association’s (AIHA) 2019-20 board of directors. Mulhausen, a professional member of ASSP’s Northwest Chapter, has been a part of AIHA for more than 25 years and previously served on its board of directors from 1998 to 2001.

"The American Industrial Hygiene Association plays a critically important role in protecting workers and in the development of health and safety professionals in the U.S. and worldwide," says Mulhausen. "I am excited for this opportunity to contribute toward ensuring the continued vitality and sustainability of this great organization."

At AIHA, Mulhausen previously held the positions of vice president, president-elect, president and past president of the Academy of Industrial Hygiene from 2004 to 2008. In addition, he was the 2002 recipient of AIHA’s Edward J. Baier Technical Achievement Award for his contributions to industrial hygiene. He previously worked at 3M as director of corporate safety and industrial hygiene and retired in 2018 after 31 years with the company.
