PARK RIDGE, IL — Professional Safety journal, the flagship publication of the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP), earned a bronze award in the journal redesign category at the virtual 2020 Association Media & Publishing EXCEL Awards. The honor was the result of the occupational safety and health journal introducing a new look in June 2018 as part of ASSP’s rebranding campaign.
The award recognizes the publication’s improved design and content. Judges evaluated the journal’s quality of writing, copyediting, design and production as well as its editorial and graphic unity.

Professional Safety, which debuted in February 1956, is a blind peer-reviewed journal published monthly. Each issue delivers safety management techniques and practical guidance on incident prevention. It helps safety professionals identify hazards, protect workers and educate management in all industries worldwide that investing in safety is a sound business strategy. An annual subscription to the journal is included with ASSP membership.
