Elected volunteer leaders begin terms on July 1
PARK RIDGE, Illinois, April 21, 2026 — The American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) today announced its new volunteer leaders following the Society’s 2026 elections. All terms are effective July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. The incoming board represents diverse safety expertise across a wide range of industries and will help advance the profession by addressing emerging and ongoing environmental safety and health (EHS) priorities.
ASSP’s top elected positions are president, president-elect, senior vice president, vice president of finance and director-at-large. Each position carries a one-year term, except for the vice president of finance and director-at-large roles, which are three-year terms. The succession of leaders from senior vice president to president-elect, and from president-elect to president, is automatic. All board members also serve as trustees on the ASSP Foundation Board of Trustees.
The 2026-27 Board of Directors includes these elected leaders:
- President Monique Parker, CSP, is chief sustainability officer at Elevra Lithium. She has more than 20 years of safety and health experience across many industries, including building materials, chemical manufacturing, food production, lithium mining and textiles. She earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Tennessee Tech University. An ASSP member since 2005, Parker resides in Charlotte, North Carolina.
- President-Elect Tim Page-Bottorff, MS, CSP, CIT, FASSP, is the health, safety security, environment and quality (HSSEQ) senior director at JLL. He began his safety career more than 30 years ago as a U.S. Marine and is also a safety trainer, author, podcast host and motivational speaker. He holds a master’s degree in occupational safety and health management from Central Washington University. An ASSP member since 2001, Page-Bottorff resides in Mesa, Arizona.
- Senior Vice President Thomas Kramer, PE, CSP, is a subject matter expert on working at height for LJB Inc. He has more than 30 years of experience in fall protection program development and is also the president of the International Society for Fall Protection. He earned an MBA from Miami University in Ohio. An ASSP member since 2000, Kramer resides in Springboro, Ohio.
- Vice President of Finance Eric Sachleben, CSP, is a division director at Liberty Mutual Insurance, where he is responsible for developing and operationalizing risk control services strategy with more than 30 years of experience in safety. He holds a bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health from Murray State University. An ASSP member since 2004, Sachleben resides in Suwanee, Georgia.
- Director-at-Large Elizabeth Barnette, CSP, SMP, is a regional EHS manager at Trane Technologies. She has more than 30 years of experience in the manufacturing and construction industries. She earned a bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health from Columbia Southern University. An ASSP member since 2005, Barnette resides in Ivor, Virginia.
These leaders join ASSP Directors-at-Large Scott DeBow, CSP, ARM; Todd Loushine, PhD, PE, CSP, CIH; Heather MacDougall, JD, CSP; and Public Director Philip Bell, CAE, on the Board of Directors. Additionally, ASSP CEO Jennifer McNelly, CAE, serves on the board.
Candidates for the board must be professional members who meet specific qualifications. Criteria include a record of positive contributions to the EHS profession, support for and understanding of the Society’s vision and mission, and demonstration of the core competencies essential for board service — strategic agility, strong governance acumen, business and financial literacy, sound decision-making, and the ability to manage conflict constructively.
