Safety professionals invited to share expertise at the industry’s premier education and networking event
PARK RIDGE, Illinois, July 13, 2026 — The American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) today opened its call for presenters for the Safety 2027 Conference + Expo, taking place June 7-9, 2027, in New Orleans. Individuals are invited to submit speaker proposals from July 13 through Sept. 8, 2026, to share their expertise with peers and industry leaders while helping the environmental health and safety (EHS) profession stay current on emerging trends, innovations and leading practices.
Two presentations formats are open to all applicants:
- Lecture Session: A traditional, instructor-led session designed to share knowledge and insights with a broad audience.
- Industry Roundtable: An interactive, discussion-based format focused on collaboration and peer exchange.
Interest in presenting at the conference continues to grow. Last year, ASSP received a record-breaking 760-plus proposals, representing a wide range of critical and timely topics, including artificial intelligence, benchmarking, emergency response, the environment, safety culture, serious injuries and fatalities, workforce well-being and more.
“The Safety Conference + Expo is the industry’s premier event for safety professionals around the world, offering exceptional education and networking opportunities for more than 6,000 attendees and 700 exhibitors,” says Monique Parker, CSP, president, ASSP. “As we look ahead to Safety 2027, I encourage my peers to share how they’re applying innovation and leading practices to address workplace challenges and reduce risk. Whether you’re new to the profession or a seasoned practitioner, there’s always valuable knowledge and insights to share to help advance the profession.”
Each individual may submit up to two proposals. The submission deadline is Sept. 8, 2026, and no extensions will be granted. ASSP’s Professional Development Conference Committee, comprised of member volunteers representing a variety of industries and practice specialties, will review all proposals. Applicants will be notified of the committee’s decisions by Jan. 31, 2027.
