Sep 16, 2025

PARK RIDGE, IL — The American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) has welcomed a new vice president of Information Technology (IT) and Infrastructure. Daryl Hogg will foster a culture of IT innovation, accountability and service excellence at the world’s oldest professional safety organization.

Hogg joins ASSP’s leadership team, working with the chief executive officer, chief financial officer and board of directors to align technology initiatives with the organization’s business goals and mission. He serves as the operational leader of the IT function, ensuring business continuity through risk management, disaster recovery and cybersecurity programs.

“We’re excited to bring Daryl on board and we look forward to his valuable insights and contributions,” said CEO Jennifer McNelly, CAE. “Daryl will play a significant role as we continue to grow our technology capabilities and support more than 36,000 workplace safety and health professionals around the world.”

Hogg’s responsibilities have Society-wide impact, supporting broad initiatives such as member engagement, revenue growth and system innovation. He brings more than 15 years of public and private sector experience in the IT field that will enhance ASSP’s capacities.

Hogg will lead the execution of ASSP’s artificial intelligence (AI) strategy, preparing for shifts in technology and cultivating an innovation pipeline that supports the Society’s future readiness.

“This is a meaningful opportunity for me because the Society helps protect worker safety and health,” Hogg said. “I plan to help ASSP build on its long history of success.”

Hogg most recently served for five years as senior director of IT at the Emergency Nurses Association in Schaumburg, IL. The professional medical association provides education for more than 50,000 emergency department nurses. He spearheaded a comprehensive IT strategy that integrated AI-driven tools and cloud-based platforms to optimize operational workflows and boost team productivity.

Prior to that, Hogg was the chief technology officer at Torvity, an IT consulting firm headquartered in Chicago. He led technology audits for clients and implemented process improvements to streamline operations. He also delivered targeted technology solutions and enhanced client service delivery.

Hogg earned an MBA in Information Technology Management from Western Governors University and a bachelor’s degree in business studies from Massey University in New Zealand. He resides in Chicago.
