  • Publication date set for new global safety standard

    Feb 20, 2018
    A highly anticipated global standard aimed at creating safer workplaces everywhere will be published on March 12, according to the International Organization for Standardization that spearheaded the five-year development process with support from ASSE. Companies can purchase ISO 45001 from ASSE beginning that week.
  • ASSP LearnEx offers two new courses for safety professionals

    ASSP expanded its course offerings in online learning. Two ASSP LearnEx courses debut in March that focus on risk assessment and the new global safety standard, ISO 45001. Participants get the same level of content and engagement as in-person classes while learning at their own pace anywhere an Internet connection is available.
  • New global standard considered a milestone in creating safer workplaces

    A significant standard was approved after five years in the making – ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems, spearheaded by ISO with support from ASSE. The first-of-its-kind global consensus model provides a framework that can reduce workplace risks and improve business outcomes worldwide.
  • Attendees save on SeminarFest 2018 by registering before Jan. 22

    Jan 11, 2018
    Safety professionals must act fast to save on registration for one of the nation’s premier occupational safety and health education events. ASSE will end regular registration for SeminarFest 2018 on Jan. 22. Higher fees will apply to late registrants of the immersive learning experience held Feb. 1-8 at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas.
  • Veterans encouraged to explore post-military careers in workplace safety

    Jan 10, 2018
    The qualities of military veterans are also the traits of an OSH professional, which is why ASSE believes that military members separating from the U.S. Armed Forces should consider workplace safety as a second career. Safety professionals keep people protected by analyzing and controlling on-the-job risks and hazards.
