    ASSP's signature event continues to grow in popularity. Final numbers from Safety 2019 show that 8,938 people took part in the June event, surpassing the organization’s previous record gathering from last year. There were 5,905 registered attendees and 3,033 exhibitor representatives in New Orleans.

    ASSP has introduced the FASSP designation for Society Fellows. Used after an individual’s name, FASSP is a recognizable way to identify recipients of the Society’s highest honor. ASSP President Rixio Medina announced the new designation during the Past Presidents and Fellows Reception at Safety 2019 in New Orleans.
  • ASSP and NIOSH Collaborating to Advance Workplace Safety

    ASSP and NIOSH have renewed a partnership agreement that outlines how the organizations will collaborate on advancing workplace safety and health over the next five years. ASSP President Rixio Medina, CSP, CPP, and NIOSH Director John Howard, MD, signed the memorandum of understanding May 22.

    ASSP partnered with The WAM Podcast on a six-episode series about the impacts of gender on workplace safety and health. The 30-minute podcasts are hosted by CEO Jennifer McNelly who is joined by subject-matter experts in discussing issues specific to women in safety.
